One-Minute Talks!

This speaking activity is an excellent ice breaker for training in speaking in public. It is also a very enjoyable activity. I have used it in Cuarto and now in Intermedio 1, and it can be adapted to any level.
Each person gets a slip of paper or a card with a topic. Then this person has to speak for ONE minute about that topic.
The topics can be established by the teacher or written down by students – one each. They can be selected considering which topics could be most appropriate and enjoyable for the group.
Here are some examples:
Things that make you happy
Things that make you angry
The most important moment in your life so far
Your best holidays ever
Your worst holidays ever
Your favourite tv series
Your favourite sports star
A celebration you enjoyed a lot
An embarrassing moment in your life
The most important invention |

A person who is really special to you
Your favourite football team
The most stupid celebrity
Your most dangerours experience
Your favourite book or film
A recipe you can cook well
The most beautiful house you've ever seen
The most horrible house you've ever seen
