In the introductory paragraph, Obama speaks about the power of the US American democracy -- how each and every citizen took part to make the change they needed and the sense of unity they've always shown.
In the second paragraph, the elected president has kind words to his opponent senator Mc Cain. He thanks him for his invaluable devotion to their country (recalling Mc Cain's soldier times). He also thanks his family, supporters and campaign team.
The third paragraph is devoted to ordinary people who by trusting him gave him the tool to deal with their daily problems (wars, financial crisis, social service, education and unemployment).
In the fourth paragraph he talks about their future, how difficult it will be, the importance of working hard together to achieve, step by step, what they are looking for. Again there is a sense of strong unity when he says : "we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers –- in this country, we rise or fall as one people". It's impressive.
The fifth paragraph is a message for the rest of the world (for the ..., the ... and the doubtful), highlighting their ideals: democracy, liberty, equal opportunities for all and unyielding hope.
In the sixth paragraph, he takes an 106-year-old woman as a symbol of how much many people like her had to struggle for their rights along the last 50 decades to this point, where now she has the right to decide and vote.
The last paragraph is a positive approach to the time to come, his strong confidence in that everything will be better, with opportunities for future generations, peace and prosperity and the creed: Yes We Can will be their answer in the face of any adversity they may encounter.
