Obama, Yes We Can by canixe #8 (In2, 2008-2009)
Today is the day. The day a black man assumes the leadership of the most powerful country in the world. It will always be the day. But, will it be that day in which blacks and whites coexist together?
The USA has always been a country strongly influenced by racism. Obviously, black people are the most favoured now, but this time, even white people agree. The older generation of blacks who lived through the Civil Rights era can see a miracle happen in their lifetime.
Everybody has thrown themselves into Obama because he represents a new threshold of racial equality, and above all a general change. We needed a change because the world is getting worse and somebody had to do it.
People think Obama is the follower of Martin Luther King. He had a dream, but unfortunately he wasn't able to achieve it. Now, the new Martin Luther King, Obama, has the duty to fulfill it.
Probably, Barack Obama will become a symbol of the history because he was the first president who was widely supported by people all around the world.
Nobody believed that this could happen one day, but that day has come.
