Obama: The American Hero by Corina Negriu and Alicia Sánchez (In2 TUES, 2008-2009)

Last Tuesday the opening of Barack Obama's presidency was celebrated. In the middle of a crisis, the whole world is expecting that this charismatic black man develops the worldwide economy and saves the world.

During his first days of work, Barack Obama has announced the closure of Guantanamo prison, the withdrawal of the troops from Irak and the freezing of the salary of people with high-profile jobs.

However, we can't forget that the USA is an imperialist country and it needs war (guns smuggling) and foreign petrol to increase its injured economy. We have serious doubts that this can be changed, but, meanwhile, we must enjoy the moment.
