Mr. Secretary-General,

The work our organization has been carrying out in the Congo area for the past ten years is near to collapse because of the lack of funds and the increasing pressure of armed groups that try to take the control of the area.

Help to the African Continent is composed of volunteers from different fields such as medicine, teaching or technical work and our aim is to make life easier to numerous ethnic groups, that have had to move from their original settlements as a consequence of cruel civil wars that expose them to situations of extreme violence.

Apart from assisting the population's first needs, increasing thus life expectancy, we create basic infrastructure, such us water pumps and cleaning water systems.

The more we commit to our work, the more demanding it becomes. Therefore, the maintenance of our facilities requires a greater economic effort.

We also have to deal with the danger of continuous combats and even with violence and hick jacking of fellow workers, so we urgently need military protection.

For us, it is fundamental to get the support of your organization, both financial and in terms of security, in order to continue with our work and not ruin the improvements that we had achieved so far.

Therefore, we beseech you to take into serious consideration offering us your support.
