Proposal to Stop Global Warming

The aim of this proposal is to suggest some ideas in order to solve the global warming that affects our planet. This proposal is based on a survey carried out by several science students.

Background Information

We human beings have been releasing a lot of carbon dioxide and other gases into the atmosphere. As a result of this, oceans have begun to rise its level and the temperature of the earth is beginning to increase dramatically.

Suggestions and Recommendations

Scientists have confirmed that stopping global warming is possible but we have to put the following measures into practice to succeed in that:

• Reduce emissions to the atmosphere: I am convinced that CO2 emissions from vehicles and industries are the main reason that produces the green house effect. I would strongly recommend not to use our cars all the time and to buy fuel-efficient and electric vehicles. We should also eliminate the use of CFCs and comply with the Kyoto Accord .
  
  
• Save energy: This can be achieved by using alternative energy sources, such as wind turbines, solar devices and other renewable energy technologies.
  
  
• Stop deforestation: numerous steps need to be taken to stop deforestation, namely, we should take care of our forests, by creating protected areas and also by toughening the sentences to arsonists and to those who do not comply with the cutting down regulations.

Personal Assessment

The conclusion to be drawn from these facts is clear: we are destroying the environment and we should take urgent measures to avoid it – although I think this does not seem likely to happen in the near future.
