Maybe (in 100 words), by Arancha (Avanzado 2, 2009-10)

For years he worked to destroy himself. Everybody hoped he would quit drugs, but when this happened it was late — he already had HIV.

To live with an addict is really hard, but to see how this person dies a little every day is even worse. Hope almost vanishes when you know what the end will be like.

In spite of all this, I did manage to keep hope alive during his illness. Maybe that was a mistake because when the end arrived I was unprepared. Maybe it wasn't  because I didn't suffer until I started missing him.
