A happy day in Getafe is the result of a good planning.
In Getafe, you can use the underground, train and bus. Most people use a travel card.
Some places are better than others.
Go to the city on a weekday, the streets are busy; the pubs, cafés, clothes shops and churches are open.
Museums open from 10pm to 5pm, from Monday to Sunday.
Lots of people go to parks to exercise (jogging, walking).
It is in very hot in summer, and in winter you have bad weather.
The food in Getafe is good and the restaurants are cheap.

Shopping Centers: Opening 9:00am. To 14:00pm And 17:00pm To 21:00pm.
Restaurants: Open From 12:00pm To 23:00pm.
The Weather: Best time to visit Getafe is May because the weather is nice and sunny and there are beautiful flowers.
Good Places to Visit: the most interesting places are the Cerro de los Angeles, The Cathedral, Maria Magdalena, and Lago Sector III.
Good Places to Eat: best places to eat in Getafe are restaurants like Errazki, Aderezo, Anticuario La Casa Di Sandro.

Our Town: Getafe.
Getafe is a city in the Southern part of Madrid.
Getafe isn't a tourist city. It has some important monuments and it also has numerous hotels (ten or eleven, more or less). It makes Getafe an attractive city, because it is near the capital and it is very well communicated (by road and by train and metro)
There are three important tourist areas in Getafe:
The Cerro de los Ángeles, considered as the geographic center of the Iberian Peninsula.
The famous street is famous for its shops. You can see a lot of shops, all kind of shops, on the right and the left.
The Spain square has beautiful gardens. Sometimes, in summer, there are concerts here.
In Getafe there are many bridges: to go through Getafe center to El Bercial and El Sector III, because Getafe is divided in two by a National road.
The most important church in Getafe is The Cathedral of St María Magdalena.
Getafe has four big Department Stores: Hipercor, Carrefour, Nassica and Centro Comercial Sector 3.
On Saturdays, in the "Margaritas train station you can find clothes, fruit, vegetables, shoes, music CDs, and DVD…
The top three tourist attractions in Getafe are:
- The Cerro de los Ángeles,
- The Hospitalillo de San José,
- The Cathedral of "Santa María Magdalena",
- The Old Women's Prision (now "Ricardo de la Vega Library"),
- The Airforce Base. Getafe is also called the cradle of Spanish Aviation. |
