Writing an Informal Letter by Laura R. (Av2 Mon) - About 300 words
Dear Irene,
I hope you are fine over there. Your sister and I have been planning a trip to go and see you at Christmas, but I can’t wait to tell you that I have bought a flat! That is big news, isn’t it?
I was thinking of renting a flat, but the prices are almost the same as mortgages. I decided to invest my money in my own property because my situation at work is stable, so I don’t believe I need to move to another city to work in the future. The house is really small but I love it. The neighborhood is great. There are a lot of shops nearby, a train station and the underground. And, we have a gym, a swimming-pool and a little garden in the building. Don’t you think it’s cool? I’m sure you’ll like it. Now, I’m still decorating it, but in a few weeks I’ll send you lots of photographs so you can have a look.
At work the situation is better than before. I used to work two weekends a month and now I only have to go there once. I have more time to rest and I’m really happy. I enrolled for theatre classes on Saturdays -- if you could see me I’m sure you’d laugh your head off. My classmates are very funny and we usually go for a beer before the classes. We have a lot of fun together.
It would be a wonderful opportunity for you to accept the job in Switzerland but I can’t manage without you yet. Every weekend, I think of calling you to go out, and when I pick up the phone I realize you aren’t here.
I want you to tell me more about your new life so let me know how it goes.
All my love,
Laura
