A Proposal by Viriginia Cuadrado Ramos (Av2 Mon) About 275 words

To the Head of Studies

The purpose of this report is to present the problems related to the use of technologies and to request various resources which would improve the use of the new technologies in our school. This report is based on comments from students and teachers from the state-run Language School in Getafe.

Computer Classrooms

We would recommend each student could make use of a laptop in class, with software applications suitable to their work. Designing a specific web programme would be excellent support to allow students to practise writing and listening exercises at different levels. It would be desirable to have access to Internet with broadband - but in a restrictive way because some students use it to check their e-mail accounts and surf websites unrelated to the subject matter.

Renovating Technologies

It would be advisable to buy DVD players and use CD and DVD players to replace tape recorders because they offer better sound and image quality. Moreover, every computer should have a sound card and headphones to allow students to practise listening activities.

Online Classes

Using a webcam in the teachers' computer would be a point of development. In this way, students would be able to attend classes from their home and solve problems and questions quickly through instant messages, or even receive checked homework through their personal email.

I am convinced that these changes would improve the skills of students, strengthen communication between teachers and students and be an excellent way to share and store all kind of information.
