What would you do if you were offered a job abroad?

Spanish society was not used to working abroad, but since Spain became a member of the European Union, people are more open to finding a job abroad.Another factor is the Economic Crisis that is resulting in the close down of many businesses and the runaway of highly qualified workers and researchers.

Considering this situation, if I were offered a job abroad, I think I would chose a developed country because I am not used to living in a country with severe problems of security, meaning terrorism, and probably, I would not be able to live in a place with a very different background either, for instance, religion is important if you are living in a Muslin country.

However, if I had the chance to choose a place to live, I would probably chose Germany, because it is a modern European country, full of people from different nationalities and the weather is not too bad, compared to other north-European countries.

There are many advantages of having a job abroad. The first could be a better salary. Another one is that you can ask for a paid flat if you can have your family with you. As I said before, the biggest disadvantage could be the cultural difference. Despite the fact that Germany has similarities with the Spanish culture, I would miss the kind of food, life in the streets, meeting my friends in the bar…

I wish I had had the opportunity to live abroad when I was a student. Nowadays I might have had a better job and I would probably be paid more than today, so I would be able to afford a very spacious flat!
