A Special Dinner, by Virginia Pérez Domínguez (Av2 Mon, 2010-11) - 180 words
After having a great party with friends on a Saturday night, when I got back home, I was starving and I decided to prepare dinner. It was late, but I wasn't sleepy so I cooked fried eggs instead of having a sad sandwich.
When I started to cook, I drove myself mad looking for the bottle of oil. My mother usually purchases very big oil carafes to save money and later she refills other containers, like bottles of bleach, with the oil. For that reason, it was hard to find the one with the oil, but finally I found it and I was able to prepare my delicious dinner.
As soon as I finished my eggs, I ate them and… Yuck! They tasted terribly! What was wrong with them? Suddenly, I knew what was wrong… The oil wasn't oil… It was Mistol (liquid detergent). I had prepared the eggs with Mistol because I had confused the bottles. I felt like a total idiot.
Finally, I opened the fridge and prepared the wretch cheese sandwich. At least, it didn't taste of Mistol.
